Traveling Operations Manager

The Traveling Operations Manager is responsible for providing temporary, on-site leadership and operational support to our residential communities. This includes covering for an absence or helping during high-demand periods, stepping into a variety of property management roles to ensure each location maintains top performance, strong resident satisfaction, and efficient operations. This position requires frequent travel and flexibility, with assignments ranging from one week to several weeks depending on business needs.


Duties and Responsibilities:

The activities listed below are not all inclusive; however, they are indicative of the type of activities required to fulfill the demands of this position. Other duties or projects may be assigned by management.

  • Leads on-site operations to meet or exceed property performance goals, including occupancy rates, rent collection, and expense control
  • Oversees and participates in leasing efforts, marketing strategies, and competitive analysis to maximize rental income and maintain occupancy
  • Manages resident relations, ensures high-quality customer service, timely maintenance response, and consistent community standards
  • Supports and guides on-site teams—both office and maintenance—while fostering a collaborative, positive work environment
  • Assists in training team members on operational procedures, company policies, and customer service best practices
  • Handles team management duties such as onboarding, performance feedback, and coaching
  • Monitors financial and operational metrics and submits timely reports to the corporate office
  • Acts as the liaison between on-site staff and the corporate team, occasionally engaging with property owners or investors
  • Performs other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by senior leadership

Preferred Education/Knowledge/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree preferred. 3-5 years multi-site property management experience, at least 1 year in a Property Manager or equivalent leadership role is required.  Experience with Yardi Property management software, in property acquisitions and due diligence, with conventional market rate assets are all required qualities. Must be able to travel 70-100%. Valid driver’s license along with good driving record and auto insurance required.
